The Roma Whiskey Festival is BACK. And now its XII edition and going strong…13th years!! Saturday, March 1st & Sunday March 2nd 2025

ROMA WHISKY FESTIVAL 2025

Same location as always….the Salone delle Fontana in Roma Capitale, Italia.

Explore the wonderful world of whiskey - brands big and small and so much more…

An entire weekend dedicated to the KING of spirits, the Roma Whiskey Festival in year 2025 continues to expand to other select “Brown Spirits” i.e. Cognac, Armagnac, Brandy and Rum.

Born from the collaboration with Rome’s first whiskey bar – Oro, Roma Whiskey Festival is the spirits festival for those that are in-the-know as much as it is for those that are not, but want to discover more.

Andrea Fofi, founder and organizer of the event wanted to enrich one of the most anticipated whiskey events with a renewed Vintage Area dedicated to bottling the most coveted vintages.

From the magnificent distillates that are world-renowned to the more rare and particular editions that even whiskey connoisseurs have never heard of before – such as the Rosebank 17 year from 1991, Bowmore Joe Milroy Selection 21 year, Clynelish 14 year, Eighties Flora & Fauna, Macallan Aged in 1990 Sherry Oak 10 year, and the Hazelburn 8 year first edition.

This year returns the coveted “Whisky & Lode” Award which elects the best whiskeys of the fair to be evaluated, per usual, by a panel of experts during a blind tasting in four different categories: Best Scotch Whisky, Best Cask Strength, Best World Whiskey, and Best American Whiskey.

Besides exhibitor spaces and stands with brands that represent the most important whiskey and scotch companies in the sector, there will also be some surprises for this year’s edition of the Roma Whiskey Festival in Rome, Italy.

Another new feature this year will be your free Welcome Drink made of Whiskey of course, thanks to a collaboration with Jameson Italy. There will also be a series of exquisite limited edition bottles in particular the one especially created for Rome Whisky Festival itself. This year, it will be Admore’s turn with a 2008 Highland Single Malt Scotch of 51.3 degrees – unfiltered and aged in Bourbon barrels for 17 years!

And after the captivating seminars, masterclasses and demos are over, the festivities continue on to Oro Whiskey Bar for the RWF afterparty show with Bar Manager Francesco Cimaglia and industry legend Daniele Gentile (both responsible for the entire mixology area of the Roma Whiskey Event) who will take you on another type of whisky tasting journey - through their well-balanced whiskey-based, hand-crafted cocktails so basically…the perfect way to end your Roma Whiskey Festival day(s) and also the quintessential nightcap drink :)

Fofi notes that “in recent years the whiskey market, historically aimed at a narrow circle of great enthusiasts, has opened up to a great number of consumers: a product that is today appreciated by both sexes and all age groups.” Something that is constantly demonstrated by lessons specifically targeted to beginners, much like their evergreen introductory course the “ABC of Whisky” which you can find every year at the Roma Whiskey Festival.

Among other new initiatives, there will also be an area dedicated to the world of beer at the Roma Whisky Festival 2025, with the presence of Stefano Carlucci’s Le Bon Bock, whose legendary pub was one of the first in Rome that enticed patrons to explore drinking scotch via their incredible selection and most impressive collection of whiskeys. Sip on your single-malt scotch in another way which to some may be an unexpected degustation– with chocolate compliments of Fonderia Dolci & Design as well as oysters and raw meats from Stagione del Mare. And of course the pairing perhaps most synonymous with scotch and whiskey…cigars, from Club Amici del Toscano, which you will be able to enjoy with their guided tastings at the RWF. You’ll also be able to explore some of Whiskey Travel’s proposals for trips entirely dedicated to whiskey exploration, experiences and tours of the best distilleries around the world. And some new training courses on whiskey will be offered by Casa Room Enoteca.

The two days of RWF 2025 will be packed with the most fun type of education accompanied by live music and DJ sets. All made possible by passionate partners like: Acqua Orsini, Pallini, Meregalli Spirits, Akashi, Carpathian Single Malt Whisky, Organics Red bull and Whiskey Travel.

This spirit-of-all-spirits event in Rome attracts not only those who work within the whisky industry i.e. producers, importers and distributors from across the globe, but also bar owners, bartenders and bargoers who are already whiskey enthusiasts and lovers as well as drinkers who are at the very least whiskey curious.

Open to the public as always, doors open at 2pm on Saturday, March 1st  and close at 9pm - and the same times on Sunday, March 2nd. Get your tickets now though as they are likely to sell out fast!: https://romawhiskyfestival.it
